Don't forget to follow the ancient tradition of posting an angry rant about why I'm wrong before you even watch the video! ❤
you are wrong and Im large anger >:(
@Twizzle050 no he isn’t
Hillbilly is F tier because Leatherface is the same and Leatherface is better
You wrong because I love demo and he is tier S!😁
Of course ❤️
It’s really sad to see Sadako so low on all the tier lists. She has such a cool aesthetic and she’s really well made with her visuals and sound effects. It’s just a shame that her power is basically useless.
her power may be useless but she can outwalk the flash….
Welcome down here with the trappy boys
Supposedly the devs are thinking about buffing her this September-October
@Rick Kcir I don't other killers get punished.like the monster eho teleports to lockers.
I agreeSedako is such a good killer imo. I love her brutality! She is my main strongest killer followed by The shape; Cenobite; and the pig at Prestige 1
I'm 12 seconds in, giving a like now just because you revealed the tier list immediately and didn't bury the lead like just about every other content creator would. Love you Otz.
@SpitBath yes indeed
He literally has the tierlist on the thumbnail everytime he makes one of these videos but you love him so you would think you would know that with all the killers constantly being added to the game and as many tierlist videos he has.
i mean it makes more sense given how he was basing on how he is ranking on the killers
Agreed it's more fun like that it build up good anticipation on why he put said killer at this place on the tierlist
Ghostface should automatically be S tier because he has the ability to t-bag back at survivors.
@Evelina Rønneseth yea idk why they did that for pig. Like she should slow down when she’s preparing to ambush. Otherwise why would anyone use the crouch on pig.
Fun tier list he is
@luciandust Pig's crouch is too slow :(
I like that Myers is elevated by his add-ons to the lofty position of third from last
I feel like with the advent of superior anatomy, Meyers should be a bit higher. Yeah it 's dumb one perk has such an impact on his capabilities, but with the ability for Meyers to make every window in the game unsafe, that's pretty damn potent.
Real Trapper fans know he belongs D tier, but he's always S tier in our hearts
@ChaosFromTejas Those survivors always disarm those ones I set; the ones I have that get them are the ones that are random because the brush completely hides them. They loop the area with a weak pallet and have to go into the some shrubbery, or a random bush the eyerie/artist map gets them for me. I go for random spots when I'm actually playing and not just farming some rift challenges.
@Jerrad Marsan Or having that one great survivor who is cocky and dropping teabags mid chase, only to vault the wrong pallet and get snapped up!
Only killer I love playing. When sprint burst was popular after the dead hard nerf, it was so hilarious seeing survivors save it til I get close, then sprint into a trap. xD
Trapper with trapper sack and iridescent stone 😎
@DIOGO STW lol don't worry I'm really bad, last season was the first time in 5 years of playing that I got iridescent 1
The main weakness for artist is elevation. The game, midwich, swamp etc sucks ass to play on but autohaven, most macmillian maps etc are great for her
@Omega bit of a late reply but OH MY GOD YES. Literally just played on RPD with her and it was hell 😂
There are plenty of spots on midwich and the game where an artist can easily lock you in a corner and score a down if the player knows what they are doing. I think separate floors are fine, but the swamp is just ridiculous with the elevation changes
Oh yeah I hate playing on elevated maps. Especially RPD
as an artist main I always groan when I see I’m on a multiple level map lol
Sadako needs a massive buff. She’s one of my favorite killers just because of how scary she can be, and I have a super-aggressive anti-gen build on her, but she’s pretty useless otherwise. Also Trickster.
Sadako is really fun to play and is my favorite, and I agree with you, she needs a buff.
Yea trickster needs love
@Dreigonix her condemned build makes applying condemn extremely easy I think you forget about that. Literally gonna be just like old Legion stab wounds study and franks mix tape, easy to use, no counter play, high lethality, and overall just borderline broken.
@CallMePsycho Reaching max Condemned almost never happens as it is. The least they could do is make it an actual threat you can’t just resolve with a click of a TV. Passing it to someone else could be a good idea for this too.
@Dreigonix making max condemned permanent sounds unfair asf
It’s great to see Slinger be in a decent place! Besides his horrendous mobility, his ability to secure kills right now is quite good, considering that you can’t use the endurance status effect while in deep wound, and his power applies it.
I’ve always thought that legion with lethal pursuer is particularly strong. It tells you immediately if you can get a frenzy down, and frankly gives him early game momentum that no other killer can compete with (except arguably dredge). I’d love to see a game analyzing that kind of game
Good surv willl spread out and not let you get free 4/5 hits, maybe 2 at best even if you run addons for extra speed as Legion.
Sadako is fun due to her amazing visual effects and the satisfaction of completely outsmarting survivors on loops, so she is very fun when winning but she is the worst when you are losing... You really feel like there is nothing you can do some games!!!
@Monika Senpai as a decent surviver we need those, as killers show no mercy when everyone down, or a no gen progress match happened they still get a 4K even if your teammates are bad or a baby they only care on getting a 4K spirit, artist, huntress and plague are very good at that making the game miserable as possible by camping or tunnelling I don't know why nurse does it too
I felt like this when I got The Game with her. It's a fucking miserable experience being pulled from safe pallet to safe pallet with nothing you can often do. You teleport to break chase to get the first hit only to realize that the survivor you initially hit already healed up because medkits aren't busted at all, and the survivor you are now chasing is completely safe just like the last one. That map is just hell for all the weak killers and I wish they'd just alter maps for when a weak killer is playing on them so that they don't have to deal with 25+ safe pallets.
Welcome to playing weak killers in general. Sometimes there’s literally nothing you can do against good teams and bad RNG, regardless of how well you play.
Pro tip For pyramid headPut on Lethal pursuerNurses calling I’m all ears Scourge hook floods of rage You can play pyramid head at a high level without having to do to much guessing for shots
As unfair as lethal pursuit is it's still a one and done. I win too many matches with discordance now I literally stand on the spot for the first 10 seconds of a match and bang yellow gen that's at least 2 people fucked. Bit strong lol.
I’m all ears on pyramid head is so good. So many people will stand still at a loop thinking you can’t see them 😂 I always run this with double range add ons
I think that Clown could be more viable by changing his yellow bottles. Either by making them activate immediately, or by making them not affect survivors. I don't think both are nessecary, but either one would be a very nice QOL change.
@Wyvernblue This is textbook clown, it's been used for years, but if they W, clown is useless... Spoke about this with my buddy yesterday, they need to make it instant, WITHOUT ADDONS you cant even throw it far enough so that when you go into it, you get the buff immidiately, you gotta run around for a sec, thats so trash.
I have some moderate experience as clown. The idea is that you throw a yellow bottle on one side of a loop, then a purple bottle on the other. You run to the yellow bottle to get a speed boost, and force the survivor into the purple.
@You Jest? I think the idea is that you can throw it at a survivor, and they won't benefit from the speed, but by the time you get there, you will.
I don’t even understand why yellow bottles aren’t effective immediately.Like please, someone try to explain the balancing idea of that.
Only recently start playing DBD and thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks for making these tier lists over the past few weeks as its helped me gage the mechanics of the game as well as pick up different killers and understand their kits.
Same lmao currently a doctor main XD
It's good to see this tier list out, being in the streams and watching all the discussions and testing of all the killers has been so much fun
I personally think the strength of the dredge is the fact that he can pressure every single survivor in a team if you have the information or even if you don't you can go to most gens really easily, the macro skill is what affect the most and sometimes even swf miss comunicate information and give free hits and downs delaying the game, the thing I would change is the doble locker lock I think since those are really common
@GeneralArmchair he should 100% be an A tier killer. Otz has underrated Dredge here for sure.
Exactly. Dredge's strength is in macro play rather than his chase performance. It's honestly why I think that he should be A-tier. Killers boil down to time efficiency. For most killers improving their time efficiency is essentially accomplished by ending chases faster. While Dredge is slower at ending chases than many killers, he's a lot faster at finding people and initiating chases. So what if his chases takes 10 seconds longer to end if his strengths of map traversal and patrolling power lets him initiate a new chase 20 seconds faster?
I lowkey love the legions perk iron maiden on the artist. Sometimes can help you easily get a 1 hit down at the start of the game when they don't know you have it yet, not only that but later on it forces them to choose to either take the time to remove the crows normally or become exposed using a locker which sometimes they are too close to risk being exposed meaning if you can aim right you get an injure with the crows either way.
Ooh, I'll try it! Thanks!
Yeah that sounds great, I might try that
i absolutely love the changes in the presentation of the tier list, grouping certain killers and showing how their positions have or haven't changed is a really helpful and welcome addition. excellent job as usual, thank you so much for your time and effort!
I main Oni Nemesis and trapper and let me tell you my oni/Nemesis games are different than my trapper ones because of their kits so im glad to see a tier list to help me with my weaknesses and improve my strengths. I also watched your tips videos and it also helped me so thank you otz
Otz: “These killers are strong” 1:26Also Otz: Puts Freddy in D Tier
As a trapper main I would add: for me the hidden power of this killer is the totem defense. Sometimes your hex just spawns in a place where you can defend it with 2 traps (or spawns in a place where you lose it in a minute and have no chance of saving it). Once you got a minefield rdy you just need time so I always use "hex ruin" and "no way out". It's far not the strongest killer but I think it can't be the worse, since there are many situations where it's the best. Thx for the vid I learned some new stuff from the other killers. I hope sadako will be buffed in the future!
I think The Dredge’s map dependency should be high. Some maps like Autohaven have very sparse lockers, while maps like Cowshed have lockers everywhere
I think Nemesis could do with having Tier 3 being buffed, I don’t think it’s powerful enough considering that some games you don’t even get it, but I think a good buff to his power in tier 3 could make him really powerful in mid or endgame if he gets his tier 3. I have a couple of ideas for this: 1. Tier basically skips through 2 out of 3 health states. If a survivor isn’t infected, tentacle will infect them as normal, but if they are infected, tentacle insta-downs.I think this could make nemesis player’s opt to use the power more knowing that, at tier 3, he is a absolute menace with his tentacle. If this were implemented, I think that Tier 3 should keep the 5m range of Tiers 1 and 2.2. In tier 3, Nemesis’s tentacle retains the 6m range, but can also hit through survivors or anything breakable without being blocked. To explain it better, basically, a surv drops a pallet in front of neme which fails to stun, so then nemesis uses tentacle strike to hit the survivor and destroy the pallet at the same time. This could also be good in unhooking scenarios as both survivors could be hit by the same tentacle strike.I think this is a more balanced buff to Tier 3 as it can make him more of a menace with destroying pallets as he can infect or hurts survivors in the same motion, as well as also ruining the effectiveness of protection hits whatsoever. So I think it makes nemesis better at things that he’s already good at, which sounds about right for an upgrade that makes his power overly stronger. These could also serve as good purple or irri add-ons so that Nemesis actually gets add-ons that are worth using.Edit: These are both separate ideas for nemesis buffs, not that they should both be added to Tier 3, I don’t want him to be absolutely broken.
I agree tier 3 needs a buff but only cause right now i couldnt tell you what it does. I know I can break pallets at 2, and tbh I feel like it's pretty easy to hit survivors at 2 so I don't even understand 3. Needs something juicier to make it worthwhile.
@Skeletal Destroyer 11 True, I’d say it’s just weird that the devs can’t figure out how to make simple pathfinding when literally everyone else has, and I think they should figure that out at least.
@Sacrificial Lamb Yeah the two things that irk me about nemesis is tier 3 doesn’t feel like enough of a power up and obviously zombies are janky. Zombies honestly just need to be able to react to more different noises so they find survs more easily, like they hear survs sprinting and could hear nearby gens with over 50% progress and go check them, chasing any survs they see or just wondering off if they see nobody. But the zombies are just inherently buggy and like that’s going to be more difficult to get right without them still getting stuck on things. The tier 3 thing is much easier to implement and fix bugs on than zombies.
@Kidd I don’t think the second one’s bugs will be worse than the zombies being buggy, the second one was actually my initial idea but the first one was like the idea that came while I was thinking about different ideas for tier 3 buffs.
These changes seem drastic.Though I agree that the tentacle tier up should be more impactful, the ones you suggested I find do too much. The first suggestion was honestly a bit crazy. The second one seems fine but I imagine bugs would run rampant especially with ping in the mix.Though I myself don't play him, I can only speak of his add-ons which I've heard are bad.
wraith should honestly be higher in the list, solely for the fact that he can EASILY catch up against sprint burst and lithe users, which is becoming more used with DH's change.
@Bubbling Waffle Okay but whats the point of having speed when you get to them and you lose most of it uncloaking. You follow them to a structure and then you are just an M1 killers just like everyone near wraith on the list
I agree he should be higher on the list
@Zombie Boss Most of the killers above Wraith can, in fact, _not_ do it, what are you even saying ? Wraith is one of the few killers with good speed. All ranged can "catch up" so it's different, but above Wraith who has as much or more mobility ? Nurse, Blight and Spirit, obviously, Oni if he's in his power, and that's it. A killer like Dredge can teleport since he has no extra speed, but it's only a hanful who have more speed than Wraith, not most like you said.
any good survivor uses sprint burst, lithe, balanced, or overcome to make it to a structure not to just make distance. At that point wraiths speed in cloak matters alot less.
I love playing Sadako, but the devs could really give her some buffs.
Huntress main here, stealth builds on her are actually really fun!!! Try the fox addon, Tinkerer, and/or ToT. It catches more people off guard than you'd think ;)
Every single time you post a 45+ min video I'm amazed by your sheer determination and will power, 100% respect
The art on these tier list it's always so beautiful
Yeah, Weaker looking fiiiiine
@Jenkinsu Yep, give them a follow on Twitter!!
the wraiths ability to dmg generators while in cloak is great, considering it is combined with the stealth speed. this makes prolonging generator repairs a great primary focus, while being more opportunistic along the way.
Thanks for doing these man! Hopefully Sadako will get a buff.
I remember that game with Artist. Otz slugged me to slow down the end game collapse because of NWO and let me escape. Such a great person, love you Otz. I was the Nea.
Used to main the Hillbilly before the "ingenious" overheat rework, and it's just really sad to see that my favourite killer in the game right now is just a mere shadow of himself, thanks to the devs...
@Ayo Of course he's boring after a nerf, especially if he's in hands of an average player but not like me with 3k hours on him alone. Boring, because most players don't know how to properly play him. But guess what, he has another stage - when he makes survivors cry because of how good he can be, and "How is this boring killer can outplay us??!". I guess that's what you meant, because you sound exactly like those survivors, lol.
@Evergreen he’s just boring asf to go against but to play he’s really fun but honestly I would take a death slinger over a trickster my god he’s down their with twins for the most boring killers in the game
@Kel'thuzad True stuff... Maybe I don't understand some mechanics of game development, but I don't think this is the way things should work. Bhvr are always looking like they're doing the opposite of the greater good.
@Evergreen actually, what is more stupid IMO is the fact that Behaviour often nerfs mediocre/decent killers like Hillbilly, Deathslinger, Pinhead, Nemesis, Twins, Pig and at the same time keeps paying zero attention to really busted killers like Nurse, Blight or Artist
@Kel'thuzad All the major goes from minor... They made it look like those were "tiny" changes (so they say about other killers too), so survivors always use this as an argument, something like "Well, he wasn't nerfed ThAT bAd, why are u crying?!!", but the reason is those changes are actually fatal. Sorry for your loss too, fella killer-main... Hope we'll live till the day when killers can finally be scary again and we can play bold...
Another thing to mention about Wesker is how his power can zone survivors. With how massive the lunge and throw distances can be, if you push a survivor and then throw them into a corner wall, they are going literally nowhere and you will get the second hit and a down very fast. That alone can make his power quite oppressive.
I'm not gonna argue about Trapper being the worst killer in the game, but I just love the tactical aspects of his gameplay and I always walk out with at least 2K so I enjoy him a lot.
I like how meta changes are really healthy for Legion. From what I heard most people hate playing against them due to insane focus on slowdown perks which makes games long and miserable (especially if Legion doesn't focus on downing survs and just bothers them), so nerfs to stuff like Thanatophobia or Ruin made them more bearable. Other killers I've heard survs despise playing against are Cenobite, Pig, Leatherface and Shape. Oh, and Twins, but nobody plays Twins. Now, if only the Nurse would get the healthy treatment. And poor Trapper, being the worst. Don't know, maybe one day he will get reworked addon that makes traps camouflage to fit the current map? And till then he has to rely on loop cutting and few addons that make traps more dangerous than they are normally (like purple teeth or iri whetstone). Also, recpect for mentioning that Legion can deal with some exhaustion perks (and endurance ones). Tbf I feel like they can even deal with most if not all of them (if the player is smart and prepared).
Thank you Otz for taking all this time to give us this info! love you man!
I always look foreword to your tier list videos! And watching the testing on streams that went into making the tier lists was equally as entertaining and intriguing! ❤️❤️
I main Pinhead and Nemesis so it’s good to see that they’re at least decent 😅
Whenever Otz releases a new tier list, I always skip straight to Hillbilly to hear his thoughts on him. And it always makes me kinda sad to think about what the formerly best killer of the game has become. You don't see Billy too often anymore...
Once again, thanks otz for blessing with you presence in this community
Ohh! Let’s go! Tier list time!
Love how otz describes exactly what I love and hate about the dredge and is a good summary of why I main it
I'm a trapper main. I look for the best 3 gen and start setting up. Almost completely ignoring all chases until I have 2 of my gens trapped up. The middle gen doesn't get trapped as I can see it on my way checking my other gens. As long as I can have one survivor dead by the time they only need one gen. The game is mine. Eruption cause anyone working on a gen to be incapacitated for 25 seconds. ( Can't work on gen) thrilling tremors causes the gens to be covered when I knock someone down. Jolt hits at least 2 gens when I knock someone down because I'm so close to the gens. I don't use add ons but bloody coil injured survivors that disarm and honing stone knocks down anyone that trys to escape.
I thought wesker not being able to hit the survivors while they vault with his power was balanced, he seems incredibly strong already, and is able to catch up to survivors pretty much without a problem and the fact he can vault the windows and even pallets pretty fast makes me think that it's a regular feature to not be able to hit survivors like that
I don't understand how Freddy has gone from a b tier killee to F tier. His nerfs were not nearly that bad
As an Artist main, I can confirm Artist feels so powerful in the right hands now!! Glad to see her make it all the way up near Spirit. Good job Otz
@MultiFandom HamHam True 😭 I always got rekt because of his zombies, the last match I was against him it was lasted for *37 minutes* in Raccoon City Police Station East Wing and I was the first to be sacrificed at 30 minute mark 💀
@Slim Shady No, she requires skill. Don't be so arrogant, just because you might be good at playing her, that doesn't mean shit. She requires skill, regardless of how good you are at playing her and saying otherwise is pretty insulting and also rude to those of us who aren't as good at playing her. It just comes off as obnoxious.
@ItsErikplays Fr. I find her difficult to play as at times. Like, I know what her ability is, but my timing and aim with the bird heads are a little off and that makes it quite challenging. One day, I'll get the hang of her!
@Adam Aronggear Nemesis is terrifying to go against. lol Though, it's the zombies that always worry me the most with him.
She was the first killer I played. I still am not amazing with her, but she is a really cool killer, with a cool design and cool abilities. I love summoning big birb heads. :D
I'm mostly saddened that the original three, wraith, hillbilly and trapper end up ranking so low. I wish they would give some more time and attention to older killers so they can actually match up with the new perks.
I think this tier list is the perfect idea of how each killer inclusive of addons and without even with perk combinations shows the true power and tiers thanks for putting in the time and effort for this
Ghostface is so much fun to play with. The fact that the terror radius disappear is perfect to transform the game into a jumpscare simulator
Sadako is such a fun killer that I (almost) always have great game with! It's unfortunate her add-ons are almost necessary
@Monika Senpai That sounds quite strong but also really fun and interesting. Might absolutely destroy new players and solo queue tho
@Sacrificial Lamb Condemned could easily be made to be more of a serious threat with just one simple change: condemned passively builds once survivors encounter Sadako. The condemned survivor then has to deposit the video tapes to spread the curse in order to stave off the curse, spreading it to the rest of their team. The rest of the match would follow this structure of survivors having to manage their condemned status or risk dying, all the while avoiding Sadako in the trial.I also think fully cursed survivors shouldn't be able to escape. They should be blocked at exit gates and hatch, being required to de-curse before they leave.
Yeah I feel like addons like well water (I think that’s what it’s called, it’s undetectable after manifesting) should be basekit and her condemn should be more of a threat
As a Nemesis main, I agree that he is frustrating in some aspects. What my main problem is that I'm too dedicated to his tentacle. I used to only go for tentacles because I thought it's optimal. The tentacle cooldown was shorter than the old M1 cooldown, now I'm not sure tho but I think it's mostly the same as the tentacle. I still need to learn the balance on when to M1 and when to tentacle. And for the love of god, fix his addons and his zombies. I kinda wish they would remove them and switch it out with a kind of sprint he had in the games. It could be a secondary power and would be great for movement and maybe getting a injure. But the best part is, that it would make him consistent
watched every second of this! so informative as i'm just getting back into dbd after a long break... would love to see the same for survivors - perks, etc!
Lately I've been playing with deathslinger and i notice him stronger than before, I don't know if he got buffed but it was really insane in my last 6 match I got a 4k being iridescent
The Dredge benefits a lot from a build built around making healing miserable for Survivors (Sloppy Butcher, Unnerving Pressence, Distressing and Deathbound is a basic example if you don't want unreliable Hex perks, Darkness Revealed is also a good choice since it goes perfectly with his power). While you lose Terror Radius during Nightfall, it doesn't last that long and the massive increase in vision and mobility makes up for it, Survivors often won't try to rush gens during Nightfall since most gens are close to lockers and the Dredge is able to reach every gen in moments. Survivors will try to heal during that time and it leaves them open to sneak _and_ gives you time to warp around smashing gens if you can't find anyone.
40:59 Never knew Demo was able to perform their own version of the hug tech, will have to try it out in some games myself!
@Der Grieche you just can’t buy it, but you can still use it
I thought demogorgon isn't in the game anymore?
yep, it's almost the same as billy
that’s not a hug tech it’s just that there is no collision, on blight you don’t need to hug it cause there is practically no collision
I like how you aren't biased, because I know trapper is one of your favourites, and hes literally last in the D tier list. I appreciate these. I don't really follow them i just play what i want, but i enjoy watching and seeing you explain WHY you placed them in the tier they're in, because having this info is good for survivor mains/players, and also new players. Appreciate ya Otz!
As a hag main, I have not been finding it difficult with the changes. Its been easier without the sbmm. Miss tinkerer and pop though.
One thing i would mentioned with Pig's ambush: Survivors that know she has both a slow crouch and uncrouch, will know to instantly leave the loop when you see/hear her stealth for 100% saftey. I really wish she could cancel crouch
As a side note for Pinhead, teleporting to the box will decrease the respawn cooldown by 15 seconds.
How nice of Alternate Timeline Otz to give another tier list. What a guy!
What they need to do for Nurse: have her power cooldown not start recovering until AFTER she has come out of fatigue. This prevents the immediate reuse nurses
Thanks OTZ, much needed insights! We are merciless, updated perk list soon please, so much has changed! You are the best my dude!
from day 1 I've always said and knew how powerful in the right hands Artist can be, and I could tell Otz kind of knew it too due to him saying how much potential Artist had, but once knightlight picked up how strong she is then yeah it was undeniable
One thing i wish wesker had was an addon that made his hindered effect work while the infection was building. Essentially it would start out at 0 and then build in severity as the infection worsened until it hit 100 and you would be hit with the full affliction. Make it a purple obviously since the effect is so strong, but it would make running from him after he got the initial hit harder and wouldnt really affect the amount of distance you gain since the slow would be basiclaly nothing for the first couple of seconds.
I love playing nemesis, but it just doesn’t feel like I’m an unrelenting tank zombie when I have to choose whether to use the tentacle or not because they get three hits. Missing a tentacle hit is incredibly punishing.
Great vid as always, you should try running crowd control, blood favour, undying, the third seal on legion, it's a pretty fun and debilitating build
ngl I would love for Ghostie to get Amanda's ambush. he could make a good use of it, cuz of his faster crouch and also he can ambush for an insta-down mid-chase and could benefit from a chase ability as a primarily stealthy killer
And Amanda could use Ghosties quick crouching. I think we should do a trade, I teach you ambush, you teach me to be a teabagging Go- I mean be able to be more sneaky.
Awesome I've been waiting for you to make an updated video like this Otz. Please make some more videos of you playing killer I miss your win streak videos. I know that can be stressful to do but it was so awesome to watch lol. Maybe you can try some 25 or 20 win streaks with some of the other killers like dredge or gunslinger.. Either way man I love your videos bud keep em coming.. :)
Love your videos and how informative they are, keep up the awesome work!
Every time you post something like this, I am amazed by your effort! Thank you Otz
I love playing nemesis cause nobody expects you to chase them right into the zombie they had no clue was there
hello otz, you helped me get better when I was very new to the game. Thank you now i can do well consistently❤
One thing I could see being potentially interesting is Terminus on Legion? Whilst I don't think it's a good perk on a lot of killers, with Legion often reaching end game, Terminus + No Way Out gives you a really, really scary end game, with a kind of NOED that can't be cleansed? The passive slowdown from Legion is also really nice, forcing people to mend over and over, and even if people split up, chaining together even two hits can result in a down and someone having to go mend? Definitely not a super high tier killer still, but the potential pressure at the end game to force everyone to stay injured, denying adrenaline, and then potentially snowballing that could be powerful! I've also found Legion to be a killer who is very, very good at taking advantage of one weak link, to get a free hit, and then hopefully chain that into more. With the extra speed (especially with extra time add-ons and/or the increased speed boost from mural), Legion becomes increasingly hard to avoid, and if you have one person mess up, and accidentally be too close to someone, leading to two chain hits, which can be very painful for survivors. You have to keep that pressure up of course - losing it, and having people escape chase in one way or another, or just messing up how you chase and letting them get to a strong loop can be very, very painful, and can cost you the game for sure. I do agree with the placement overall, but I think they might get some more interesting end game stuff!
As a person who never mains top tier characters, i love seeing my fav killers in the bottom tier, stay humble kings
Hmmm... as a Hag main, I love base kit borrowed. I just run STBFL, force a mend state, & it gives me a free stack to chase the rescuing survivor. 🤷♂️
A couple of things I'd like to say:For starters, I think in order to get better look at a killers power it's essential that you look at how well they do without add-ons, or perks because if a killer is heavily dependent on those to succeed consistently, it signifies how powerful they really are. For example, you talked about Myers with tombstone, now obviously he's at the bottom on your list, but if you factor in tombstone and Unlimited tier 3, he immediately becomes one of the best killers. And then with Leatherface without certain perks, add-ons, and camping he becomes brutal to play, whereas nurse, or plague dominate regardless of what they bring. This imo is this most fair way to judge a killers strength.Secondly, I'm always in shock when I see how low you put wraith and doctor. Wraith's unmatched ability to zoom around at Mach 5 speed is insanely valuable. You're ability to pressure generators is unlike most in the game, and while it's true he has few options in chase, a master of him can absolutely dominate at a lot of loops. Combo that with his stealth and you have a recipe for an A tier killer. As for doctor, he has the ability to find survivors at will, slow gen progression with ease, and force survivors to waste loads of time if played properly. His anti loop isn't perfect, and some he can't do much with, but the potential is there. At the very least, both Doctor and Wraith are at bare minimum B tier imo, even if a novice is playing them.
@TheLifeLaVita it's just more fair to include it in the evaluation of each killer, most killers will stay the same, but doctor and wraith should be higher for sure.
@Ghostkiller166 sure it could be Interesting to look at a raw basekit tierlist but it won't be "surely much better"
@Ghostkiller166 yea nurse can teleport and skip chases and pressure. Still you'll use addons. It doesn't make sense to make a tier list without addons because it's not of use to anybody. And yea if you don't put premises the harder killers to judge are gonna be a bit random. Basically everything A and lower here is a bit weird because it's a mix of how much fun the killer is to play and how good the power could be when survivors play bad
@TheLifeLaVita If nurse can dominate without add-ons and Bubba can't that represents how powerful they are. At the casual level Doctor and Wraith wreck lobbies (any killer would tbh), so if that's his argument it's very weak.
the first is completely invalid. Why would you play without addons? The second is easily explained. He's not talking about the highest level, but medium level where survivors mostly play casual. That's why oni is A and many others less survivor-reliant killers are lower
As a ghost face main, I have never had someone guess my playstyle so accurately. I love super complicated skill-based games where 1 small mistake can lose you the game.
@MiyoshiEira I’m honestly surprised he said something so embarrassing.
@LEON THE GAMER completely fair i agree with your comment.
@C Well, true it is possible that all 4 survivors play different but that also can make it easier because it means that you might struggle with one or two but you also could have it easier with 1-2. So sure it could be more difficult if all 4 play differently and still perfectly but I would not say that happens so often in the average games. But its true you have a higher skill sceiling with many killers. But usually you can do well and get decent results without that. (e.g. Artist is really strong in in the right hands a monster but even rmidiocre artist can win games by basic loop traping, and basic use of her power to get information.)I do agrre that the skill sceiling can be higher compared to survivor and I also agree on the the part with the higher skill Floor. However the playing killer in dbd can be combined with things you learned in another game can also make it easier for you. But sure it still requires skill e.g. Aiming killers. What I meant is that swf can require less skill cause you can make up for mistakes compared to solo que.Well it the depends. If you are decent you should be able to last a bit at a good structure. That one hit can allow you to make it to shack for example. However i do agree that you still should be skilled in an swf. (looping, map knowledge, pressuring gens and so on.)So overall we agree on many things but not on all or not fully on everything. I think thats a totally fine result ☺️
@LEON THE GAMER you are simply wrong. Killers have to go against 4 different survivors and go against 4 different playstyles as well as 16 perks. Survivors have a higher skill floor than killer, sure, but killer has a higher skill ceiling. Starting off as a survivor is difficult as you mentioned, whereas its easy as a killer. Just follow survivor, hit and you got a free down. This changes in higher ranks. SWF takes the same skill as solo (Although I agree that it makes it easier against killers like hag and trapper, still requires the same amount of skill as the core gameplay of survivor doesn't change in SWF). Doesn't matter if someone takes a hit for you, you still need to be good at survivor to make that hit wortwhile. It's not like all of a sudden because someone took a hit for you you won the match. That's not how anything works. SWF is strong because bunch of skilled survivors coordinating together is a nightmare fuel. At the end of the day, the skill of the coordinated survivors is what makes the teamwork, work. And no, solo queue being difficult doesn't make it more skillful than SWF or killers in general. It just means solo queue is difficult due to the lack of info sharing between survivors. Killers overall have to have more skills from other games as well as dbd (aiming, resource management, game awareness, flicking, killer special techs, tracking) whereas survivors depend more on team based skills and general dbd related skills. Killer overall takes more skill as I said. We can agree to disagree if you don't get my points or disagree with them.
@C you arent completly right with what you said there. If solo q is harder or more difficult it does require more skill to be still decent at it.Swf's is also easier if you have decent comms ( e.g. call out traps isnt very skillfull just telling others what you saw but gives a huge advantage against trapper/hag).Also if you run somewhere were you dont think there is any option left for you (but a very good player wouldnt have run there in the first place or still thinks he can do something) you can just call one of the other survivors to take a hit for you and you are fine simply by calling for help at the right time. Also nurse. While nurse isnt the easiest killer to start with once you mastered her power to a certain degree, most macro game stuff you literally dont have to care about. Just slap aura reading perks on her and maybe one insta down perk and go from one down to the next in most of your games. Wheras other killers have to think way more about different stuff. There is literally two ways of playing killer. You can play in a very skillfull way. Or you can chose a simple braindead way. Once you are decent with nurse you will have an easy time in most games and you dont have to learn or mind most of the stuff others killers have to mind/learn.E.g. A really good wraith player is very likely a lot better in managing gen pressure, mind games, and playing unpredictable compared to a decent nurse player who simply learned to blink accurately and the few things survivor try to do against you. Thats it.So especially as a killer you can always decide to play in a skilless or skillfull way. Depending on your choice of killer + add ons + way of playing + offering)Survivors could also decide to go for an easy skillless play with the old hatch / key System. Now its a bit harder for survivors. If you want an easy game as survivor what do you do? You either have a swf and decide to sweat or you play selfish as fuck going for hatch /gates with certain perks. Apart from that I cant think of anything else but maybe I am missing something 🤷🏻♂️ :)Also you said survivor gameplay doesnt requires as much skill as killer gameplay which is not true.Look at low ranks: killers dominate and why? Because survivors have to learn soo much stuff before they actually can compete: using your perks right (dont just walk the whole time only because you have sprint burst vs killer uses noed which is completly passive) learn to look behind you or the killer might take a short cut, dont waiste pallets, loop tight at certain structures but also mind structures were you could get stuck at something, how to play arround perks, how to do skill checks, gathering map knowledge of all the maps. Learn how to play as a team. Learn how to handle critical situatons (Demo tunnels, you might wanna go for body blocks to prevent an early 3v1 but if a nurse tunnels well just pray and stick to your gen cause you cant body block a nurse)Also how to play against all the different killers ( you cant play the same way against a nurse as you play against trapper and you cant play the same way against a huntress as you play against a hag.)Meanwhile killers just have to follow survivors using there eyes. Some require practice regarding their power or not losing the survivor after the first hit but you are still faster + bloodlust + having a power. Only if the survivors learn all of that over time they actually can start to compete and even make it way harder for killers all of sudden. Which means killers have to learn things like :"should I drop that chase or commit / mind games / survivors way of playing, gen pressure and so on" way later ( you dont need to think about dropping chase if the survivor just runns while 2 others are using their urban evasion behind some rock and the 3rd one is opening chests and you also dont need to learn mind games if the survivors arent looping you)So there is a lot to learn on both sides however the variety of killers means that survivors need to learn a bit more. Killers after all always go against 4 survs. No changes there at all.The difference is survivors need to learn a shit ton of things right at the start. Killers also have to learn a couple things but the most difficult stuff they have to learn later once they go against better survivors. :)
Hey Otz, Could you make a tire list based on no addons at all? I usually like to play without any addons because I don't like to spend bloodpoints on a single killer specially since I'm still new to the game relatively and trying to level up every killer for perks, love the videos otherwise :)
I will always love Legion.. and i will shed a tear for them every time they fall into C-Tear AGAIN.
Yes, Yes and Yes, you’re right at all this tier list is incredibly precious !!! Thanks for this good information.
I feel that for Trapper they should implement a movement speed bonus when he isn't carrying traps. It doesn't have to be enormous, only 1% per trap that isn't on his person. I think all traps should start in his possession as some of the maps are unfairly large and it is hugely time consuming collecting them
I always thought that sadako would be better if:-she would get trough pallets when shes not manifested (survivors would have to be more careful when looping her and also the killer would be also more careful when manifesting and unmanifesting on a loop rather than just ooo im invisible for 1 millisecond) the animation of manifesting should be slower to balance this-the tv doesn't deactivate when she uses it, just survivors can deactivate it (so the game play against her is less boring and it would be a risk to do it because you can get harassed until mori or ultimately you lose time because you have to put the tape on another tv, would be a lil bit like wasting time removing a portal from demogorgon) of all the changes i think this is the most necessary -if the first change is not viable for the killer then give sadako a movement speed when she manifest, thats it
love to see demo always be mid because i love his consistency
Myers being in d tier with tombstone implies he would have had his own separate tier and I find that interpretation funnier than just straight up making one
In my opinion Myers's Evil Within should apply some stuff like fear which will slow survivors actions so at least, he may lack map control, but he can apply permanent slowdown on actions
Always love the passion you put in that game
As someone who's not played since around the release of the Twins, seeing Twins in A and Freddy in D seems crazy to me.
I personally think dredge is in A because he's good at applying pressure, and good in chase
Plague is currently my S tier. I’ve 4k’d 10 matches in a row with her recently.
Always love to listen to your long videos while doing housework, Otz. You have a pleasant voice and an insightful mind.
Nemesis buff: if a zombie doesn't move 5 meters or more for 45 seconds, it automatically dies and respawns immediately in a random location at least 20 meters away from where it died
Nemesis is my boy, and the combination of his tentacle whip and passive info/slow down from zombies and infection makes him my favorite killer by far, I just wish he was more consistent. The rush to get tier 2 tentacle to make him actually work, the tendency for zombies to get stuck or wander in empty useless areas, needing to hit survivors 3 times in a chase for a down, it feels like he has to work a lot harder and roll a lot of dice to even be capable of playing at a comparable level to others. And that's not even getting into how garbage his add ons are. If I could make a wish, I'd ask for his mutation system to go away and just give him tier 2 out the gate, then repurpose all the mutation rate add ons into things actually worth a damn.
I'd be for it actually, breaking pallets as an add on does sound like a good starting point, I think having a third zombie as an ultra rare add on could spice things up as well. But honestly, I think a good fix is to increase the mutation rate from killing Zombies. They are just an extra pair of eyes in most cases, so to improve on that to get him to level 2 faster is really all he needs, anything after can help bring him into a higher tier. With all that said tho, I still consider him A tier in spite the flaws he and the zombies have
Ghost face is one of the killers I have always loved to play. Although I am not the greatest with him yet he is definitely my favorite killer in the game. Sided by Demodog, and Wesker (mainly because I am a resident evil fan)
Finally I can agree with Otz‘s placement of the Spirit in his tier list. 🥳
i love you so much for this otz i love hearing your opinion and learning about killers as a newer player :D. still really sad to see that sadoka is so low but i guess it makes since her power kind of sucks. but i love her non the less
I always think it’s funny that whenever you do one of these my top 3 favs are always around C tier. That’s just where the fun ones are to me lol
Otz thank you for putting so much time and effort in your videos for us we appreciate it you beautiful man
I just picked up pig and been having a blast on her, glad to see her moving up a bit
as someone who plays alot of Dredge, I have to say that his map dependency skyrocketed with the new Haddonfield...survivors have already learned to finish house gens first and then only leave the ones in the open left, leaving me with no lockers at my disposal xD
